What, might you ask, does this title mean? Well, those of you who are big "texters" should recognize the 160 number. For those of you that don't, 160 is the maximum characters you can have in a text message (including spaces and punctuation).
My question/challenge for anyone who reads this is, if you were going to text someone about worship--could you do it in 160 characters? Click the comments below and add your 160 character description of worship.
See you Saturday.
Worship in 160 Characters!
What is Worship
When Kevin Cooper asked me if I’d be interested in blogging, at first I thought, “what in the world am I gonna say?” and I began to think of what a miracle it is – and what a blessing it is – that I am able to do what I do in the arena of leading worship. I am shy by nature, so the fact that I am up in front of people, singing and playing and even jumping up and down now J gives evidence to the Word of God when it says that HE will empower you to do what you never thought you could do. As I have watched my dreams unfolding before me from the time I was a little girl, singing at the top of my lungs into a hairbrush along with Sandi Patty, to being a worship leader, I marvel at the journey on which God has walked with me, carried me, and, (dare I even admit it), often dragged me along, kicking and screaming…..I began to really meditate on what worship is and what we, as worship leaders, seek with all of our hearts to communicate to our congregation……we deeply desire for the passion that burns in our hearts to be translated into our song and our expression, so that it reaches to the very depths of the worshiper, allowing them to see the Greatness of our God and, in turn, be inclined to worship Him.
How to Sleep-in Sundays
Step 1. Attend the Saturday Night Worship service @ 6pm
(by the way, the service now is every Saturday night from now on!)
Step 2. Turn your alarm off when you get home after the service.
Step 3. Set your thermostat to 68 degrees for a nice cool night.
Step 4. The next morning...sleep in!
That's it!
See you Saturday Night.
2-weeks until First Pre-launch Service!
It's just about two weeks until we launch our first of three "beta" services. On Saturday July 28th at 6pm, Meadow Park will open its doors for Saturday night worship. These "beta" services are designed to give you a glimpse of what Saturday night worship may look like once we go "official" September 8th.
We would like to hear your feedback on these three "beta" services. So please, invite friends, co-workers, neighbors, etc and tell us what you think. See you on the 28th!
