It's been a week since my experience at the worship arts conference at Willow Creek Church. I've had time for the breakouts and main sessions to sink in and wanted to give my thoughts on some of what I've learned that could be applied at Meadow Park. In this particular post I'm just focusing on Dan Kimball's message.
- Point 1: There is a growing interest in spiritual things and Jesus in our culture.
- What does that mean for Meadow Park: More reason that ever to continually develop new ministries and fresher more relevant worship services.
- Point 2: There is a fascination in our culture with Jesus. It may seem superficial—but it is a good thing, because we can use it to start spiritual conversations.
- What does that mean for Meadow Park: Internally we need to be engaging in conversation with MP attenders--find out what "conversations" MP attenders are getting into.
- Point 3: Gandhi said: "I like your Christ. I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are not like your Christ."
- What does that mean for Meadow Park: Replace the word "Christians" with "Meadow Park" and then ask if this is true.
